Welcome to Faith Community Nursing in the Rockies!
We are a network of faith community nurses offering education. support, encouragement, resources, and mentoring for new and developing faith community nurse/health ministries.
Our sponsoring organization is Rocky Mountain Parish Health Ministry, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization with geographic regions represented on the Board of Directors. See our Calendar for special events and meeting dates, times, and locations.
We believe faith communities serve as a natural resource for preventative health efforts, health advocacy, support in sickness and health, and promotion of whole person healing and wellness.
What is a “Faith Community Nurse?
Faith Community Nurses are licensed, registered nurses who practice wholistic health for self, individuals and the community using nursing knowledge combined with spiritual care. They function in paid and unpaid positions as members of the pastoral team in a variety of religious faiths, cultures, and countries. The focus of their work is on the intentional care of the spirit, assisting members of the faith community and other faith-based organizations to maintain and/or regain wholeness in body, mind, and spirit. FCN’s have a scope of practice defined by the American Nurse’s Association.
